HP Discover 2012: Expect More Ways to Harness Data, Manage Services

HP Discover 2012  conference will be held in Frankfurt, Germany through December 4-6. The event is the vendor’s biannual opportunity to showcase its achievements from the past six months, and strengthen its ties with its massive ecosystem of partners and client organizations.

Chief executive Meg Whitman will be clearing her schedule to speak at the event, along with other senior HP executives and high ranking techies who will be showcasing their company’s products.

One of the solutions that will be exhibited at the event will be HP Service Anywhere, the  IT management-as-a-service platform that the consumer electronics giant unveiled last month. The offering brings together configuration management  and other similar functionality under a single pane of glass to help IT departments streamline operations and boost employees’ productivity.

Another company that’s attending Discover is Grid Tools, the maker of the Datamaker test management and masking software.

Huw Price, Managing Director of Grid-Tools said in a statement that  “as testing now accounts for up to 60 per cent of the development lifecycle of an application, selecting the right test data engineering tools and processes is a significant issue,” and that his firm is “delighted that HP identified the advantages that Datamaker.”

Intel, the event’s largest third party sponsor and one of HP’s biggest partners, will also be in Frankfurt next month. The chipmaker scheduled a dozen sessions for Discover, covering everything from the two firms’ collaboration in the PC market to case studies and topics such as virtualization, cloud and big data. Analytics was a major highlight of the company’s Las Vegas gathering in June, where Intel GM Paulina Nist talked about how more data could mean a slower connection a few years down the road.
