Where to Watch Obama in the 57th Presidential Inauguration Online

President Barack Obama was sworn into office yesterday, but unlike his previous inauguration, things were kept simple and quiet with just his family and Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. present.

Because of a quirk in the calendar, the constitutionally mandated start of the new term fell on Sunday.  Although President Obama has already been sworn into office, a reenactment swearing-in outside of the Capitol will take place, as well as other festive activities such as parades and parties, but it is perceived to be much more low-key than what happened in 2009, when the first African-American president was sworn into office.

Though things may not be as exciting as 2009, a lot of people are still thrilled about the fact that Obama will be starting his second term, and they want to share the moment with him and the rest of America.  If you can’t be at the Capitol to experience the festivities, you can watch the livestream inauguration at 11:30 AM ET on the following websites:

2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee

Wall Street Journal’s WSJ Live, YouTube channel

Hulu

Ustream

C-SPAN’s live coverage

FOX News

You can also keep track of the inauguration via social media.  On Twitter, you can follow the inaugural committee @obamainaugural and on Facebook, the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies @jccic2013 and Facebook, or follow @BarackObama and @whitehouse.

You can also see what people are talking about on Twitter regarding the inauguration by checking out the following hashtags:  #inaug2013, #iserve, #tcot, and #p2.

And for mobile users, they can download the iOS or Android app where they can watch the stream of the inauguration, plus the app helps you find events near you, as well as keeping you connected with other app users.  The app has been scrutinized for privacy issues, but it was soon discovered out that it wasn’t as invasive as previously perceived.
