Special features

.

Smart Screen: Smart Stay – The feature was first introduced in the Galaxy SIII and it keeps the screen active for as long as the user is looking at the screen; Smart Pause – Pauses a video you are watching when it detects that you are not looking at the screen; Smart Rotation – It adjusts the screen orientation depending on the angle of the user’s sight; and Smart Scroll – This feature lets you scroll the screen up or down by just tilting the device while looking at the screen.

Air gesture – this feature allows you to control the screen without touching the screen by waving your hand above the screen.

WatchOn – This feature allows you to transform your device into a remote control for your TV or set-top box.

For more analysis on the S IV’s standout features is contributing editor John Casaretto, who appeared on this morning’s NewsDesk show with Kristin Feledy:

AirView – It’s the same technology found on the Galaxy Note II but this time, users don’t need the S Pen to enjoy the feature.  It allows users to hover over photos and videos to get a preview with just their fingers.

Group Play – This feature allows transmitting of documents, music files, photos, and other content to other Galaxy S4 without a WiFi or cellular connection.  It also allows you to connect to other Galaxy SIVs so all the devices play the same music at the same time.  Great for instant parties in need of great music.

S Health – A personal health tracking app that is complemented by the S Band –  a bracelet that tracks your steps, calories burned and distance covered, as well as check a user’s Sleep Efficiency, and is waterproof so you can wear it anywhere.

Wireless Charging – With the use of Qi, the technology developed by the Wireless Power Consortium, you can equip your Galaxy SIV with a charging cover to facilitate wireless charging via a charging pad.

ChatOn – A dedicated chat service that allows users to make three-way video calling, screen-sharing, and video call with the use of both cameras

S Translator – Great for travellers.  S Translator offers both voice and text translations so you’ll never have to get lost in a foreign land or made fun of for your poor foreign language skills.  Supports French, Spanish, Italian and Portugese.

Sound and Shot – You can record a 9-second audio clip while taking a photo

Drama shot – Combines the images from a burst shot into one frame creating a more dramatic effect or making a photo come to life.

Dual shot – This allows users to simultaneously use both the front and rear cameras and inject the image from the front camera to the image from the rear camera.  So you can capture your surrounding and your reactions in one shot.

Cinema Photo – allows users to animate just one portion of photo, resulting in a GIF file, which you can further edit and of course share.

There are a lot of great features on the SIV though some say that they’ve already seen it on other Galaxy devices, or other smartphones already in the market, you can’t deny that it’s awesome how Samsung packed all these great features in one sleek device.  It can also be noted that leaks regarding rumored devices are getting more accurate.

Release Date and Price

.

Samsung will release the Galaxy SIV on April 26 on 327 operators across 155 countries and is expected to cost about US$725 or £480 or AUD$695 without a contract.
