Cloud Services Brokerage Jamcracker Releases JSDN 6.0 with Global Business in Mind

Jamcracker’s Services Delivery Network released a new version update yesterday. This is actually a new version of its powerful tools that are designed help organizations run and manage cloud services with a complete enterprise framework amongst a number of cloud service providers. The new updated APIs are immediately available and they include global business-focused features such as localized currency settings, language settings, time zones, local tax calculation capabilities and more.

In a briefing with Steve Crawford, VP of marketing and business development at Jamcracker, we discussed among other things, the international enablement that these new features provide. The new release is expected to meet a surging need on a global basis, in that Jamcracker’s base is rapidly expanding and the progression to these feature sets was a natural value-add to their successful operation worldwide. Jamcracker is what’s known as a Cloud Service Brokerage, basically an integrated single point of truth and management interface for a variety of cloud service offerings. The product provides a number of key enterprise features such as billing, administration, security, and extensive management across extensive highly scalable and distributed architectures through its Jamcracker Service Delivery Network JSDN 6.0. Many enterprises are gravitating to such services as the number of cloud offerings increases and the service details vary as much as the names do. As more and more enterprise and business data goes into the cloud, mitigating the variety and management of the various services is increasingly critical and that’s where Jamcracker steps in. With JSDN 6.0, of all the sophisticated complex elements that go into today’s cloud environment, the global region feature updates make up yet another piece of that puzzle that is simplified, in addition to all that the Jamcracker products do.

According to Gartner, “Integrated cloud service delivery and enablement represents an emerging technology that can address the intricacies of cloud service enablement, provisioning, ordering, metering of usage and billing, not only for a stand-alone SaaS solution, but also for composite cloud solutions that CSPs can integrate, aggregate and customize for specific customers.” (Technology Overview for Integrated Cloud Service Delivery and Enablement Environment, August 2, 2012.)

JSDN 6.0 is an internationalized version of the Jamcracker Services Delivery Network, built to better serve the rapid globalization of modern SMBs and enterprises. These features include the capability to set languages, currencies, time zones, and date formats based on local regions, significantly lowering the operationalcosts associated with supporting multiple geographical regions. JSDN 6.0 also contains 18 new REST APIs to improve the integration of existing applications and increase the scalability and flexibility in application development and deployments. Lastly, user experience and financial reporting are improved through extensive taxation enhancements.

“JSDN 6.0 offers our customers the flexibility to set-up multiple marketplaces, each with a unique set of languages, currencies, time zones and date formats,” says Mahendra Soneji, vice president of product management at Jamcracker. “This enables the catalog, stores and offers to be made available in multiple geographies.
