LIVE: Will Drug Users’ Addiction to Bitcoin Help or Hurt It?

Crypto-currency Bitcoin has gone from skyrocketed value, to overhyped nothing, back to somewhere in the middle over the last few weeks. While Bitcoin tries to find its place as an alternative to the US Fed’s dollar, there is one Bitcoin enthusiast who isn’t jumping ship. Dread Pirate Roberts, founder of the black market site Silk Road, says the his site is running as smoothly as ever. “Bitcoin’s foundation, its algorithms and network, don’t change with the exchange rate.” On Silk Road, visitors can use Bitcoins to buy practically any illegal drug imaginable.

On today’s Live NewsDesk Show with Kristin Feledy (see archived clip below) we’ll be hearing from SiliconANGLE’s founding eidtor and our own Bitcoin expert Mark ‘Rizzn’ Hopkins. We expect Mark to discuss Bitcoin’s algorithms and the company’s ability to withstand constant fluctuation. Look for mark to focus on why the math holds through spikes up and down.

Tune in every morning at 9:15 am EST for live broadcasts of the day’s top news in tech.
