Hacker sentenced to one year imprisonment

YouTube trumps Viacom in copyright case

A U.S.District judge ruled in favor of YouTube against Viacom who contends that YouTube isn’t protected by the DMCA, because it had to know that the videos it hosted contained copyrighted material. There’s no word yet on whether or not Viacom will appeal the ruling.

Photos of cheap iPhone surface the web

Photos of Apple’s budget iPhone are circulating on the Internet. The design is thought to be Apple retro, as it looks like the classic iPod and comes in five color options. Apple has yet to confirm the existence of a budget iPhone, but former Apple CEO John Sculley recently weighed in on the topic, suggesting that Apple has no other choice but to build a budget iPhone. Analysts agree that the budget iPhone is all but inevitable.

The birth of the National Digital Public Library

Finally, we are pleased to announce the birth of a new archive, the National Digital Public Library.
