CA Technologies Acquires Nolio, Unveils CA LISA Application Delivery suite

CA Technologies, a leading provider of IT management solutions that help customers manage and secure complex IT environments to support agile business services, recently announced that it has acquired Nolio. Nolio is a recognized leader in continuous application delivery with a strong and growing international base of large enterprise and service provider customers.

The Nolio acquisition is a part of CA Technologies’ efforts to address the critical DevOps challenges to help IT accelerate innovation, and bringing continuous delivery capabilities to its service virtualization business. Reportedly, the acquisition price is somewhere between $40 million and $42 million.

“Winning in today’s world of rapid agile development and complex hybrid infrastructures requires IT organizations to have automated application delivery processes and tools to deliver innovation to customers with perfection, and faster than the competition,” said Shridhar Mittal, general manager, Application Delivery, CA Technologies. “Building on our expertise in Service Virtualization—through both organic development and a targeted acquisition—we are driving efficiencies, cost savings and faster release cycles, and equally important, we are helping our customers achieve a truly optimized approach to DevOps.”

With acquisition of Nolio, CA Technologies adds the capability of simplifying and streamlining application releases, develop and test applications rapidly, and ensure continuous application delivery for improved business and operational agility.

CA LISA Application Delivery Suite

Another recent development in CA’s kit is the CA LISA Application Delivery Suite, which it unveiled at the CA World 2013. CA LISA Application Delivery suite addresses the most critical DevOps challenges and helps deliver faster to market at reduced costs. The latest version offers mainframe capabilities, international support, and additional protocols and data capabilities.

The suite includes CA LISA Service Virtualization, CA LISA Release Automation, CA LISA Pathfinder, and CA LISA DevCloud Manager.

CA LISA Release Automation helps improve the ability to move application software efficiently through the development process and into production across vastly different IT environments spanning physical, virtual and cloud.

CA LISA Pathfinder allows IT organizations to better model real-world environments for development and test using intelligence from both development and production.

CA LISA DevCloud Manager helps ensure the environments and infrastructure used in development, test and production are ready for applications, across physical, virtual and cloud infrastructure.

We all know that CA Technologies has always been into the DevOps business, and the company always keeps on enhancing its product suite for the needs of its clients needed, in order to help produce the best solutions for them.

Recently, CTO John Michelsen of CA Technologies talked about the path that the company took from its old view of development and operations into the modern, agile field of DevOps solutions. He talked about how the company organized its DevOps products into one suite: it started by creating a traditional automation product, and then married it with Dev/Design Time tooling such as visualization, and finally by writing a new strategy for making DevOps application-centric and operations savvy.
