HP Security – New Service Helps the Enterprise Migrate to the Cloud Securely

As organizations move to the cloud the challenges in securing that transition vary greatly in range, scope and risks. That’s where experience, process and technology play such a critical role. HP has stepped up to announce a set of new security services that are focused on managing the risks of cloud migration of all types. Nowadays, the corporate environment is adopting the cloud in all kinds of ways, whether they know it or not, in public, hybrid, and private clouds, in software services and so on. That point was reinforced in a conversation with Andrzej Kawalec, the Chief Technology Officer of HP Enterprise Security Services.

The announcement of the new HP Cloud Security Risk and Controls Advisory Services as a part of the HP Converged Cloud Professional Services Suite couldn’t come at a better time in the industry. The cloud landscaping is changing and introducing compliance, regulatory and security measures are more than a benefit, they’re a must have and it is this service that helps enterprise customers take in cloud services and do it securely. It is very easy to rest your laurels on the tenets of your existing security infrastructure, including systems, people, and processes you have in place. That’s where the advisory that HP provides really makes a difference. The first step is finding out where you stand, identifying risks, and it scales up from there. One big difference is looking at the landscape of cloud technologies and coming up with an associated risk level that is based on experience, and then you start stacking all these things together to really paint a picture of security posture that is more accurate in today’s cloud-enabled age. Part of the formula is an expert-level framework of information security, breach management, technology, and process that come together to form a cloud-focused security solution for any size enterprise.  When you look at the critical point of a cloud migration, it’s important to get it right and with a proper security-focused framework that is put together with expertise and strong core elements you can get the risk and security aspect of it right.

In my prior conversations with Kawalec, he has been front and center in the mix of HP Services’ evolving and incredibly powerful lineup of services in the information security business. With a worldwide base of resources and a wealth of international security experience, their services have a particular practical and powerful benefit to companies doing business with assets, infrastructure, and personnel on the international scene. This is but the latest example in that evolving lineup of advanced services and you would be hard pressed to gather such thorough experience and capabilities in information security, risk assessment, breach response and do it with the latest technologies that not only include the cloud, but also HP’s impressive leading-edge enterprise security products.
