Jordanian Bank Chooses IBM to Transform Customer Experience

The Jordan Ahli Bank has chosen IBM to modernize its core banking systems to meet new standards of customer service and support business expansion. IBM is providing hardware, software, & IT services to enable the bank to offer smarter products and services, enhance client satisfaction with improved time-to-market services, increase its banking application performance, and cut energy consumption costs. The project is part of a full-scale business transformation program called DNA that the bank, which has 50 branches across Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Cyprus, initiated last year. More

 

Dell OEM Solutions Partners with Prentke Romich To Assist Individuals with Speech Disorders

Dell OEM Solutions has entered a strategic partnership to provide OEM technology, development, and deployment expertise to Prentke Romich Co., a pioneer in assistive technology and augmentative communication systems for individuals with speech disabilities. Dell specifically will provide Latitude 10 tablets to run PRC’s Accent 1000 software, and the two companies are planning further projects together to improve outcomes and develop personalized solutions for people with special needs. Microsoft Goes After Business Tablet Market, Seeks Independent Developer Involvement

Microsoft Corp. has announced the initial phase of its business-channel expansion plans for its Surface PCs, including AppsForSurface, a new Surface application-development program for ISVs. As part of its phased approach to the growth of its Surface business, it announced the Microsoft Devices Program, which allows customers to purchase Surface and commercial services through authorized resellers. Ingram Micro Inc., SYNNEX Corp, and Tech Data Corp. are the inaugural device-authorized distributors authorized to sell Surface to a newly designated group of device-authorized commercial resellers. The resellers include CDW, CompuCom Systems Inc., En Point Technologies, Insight Enterprises Inc., PC Connection Inc., PCM Inc., SHI International Corp.,  Softchoice, Softmart, and Zones Inc. More

 

IDC Names SAP Mobile Management Market Leader for 12th Consecutive Year

IDC has named SAP the market-share leader based on 2012 revenue in mobile enterprise management (MEM) software in the Worldwide Mobile Enterprise Management Software 2012-2016 Forecast and Analysis and 2012 Vendor Shares Report. This is the 12th consecutive year that SAP has been named the leader in the annual IDC report. SAP holds a 14 percent share of the market, the largest of any of the vendors, according to the report. Whiptail’s Accela Flash Storage Array Passes Cisco Interoperability Verification Testing

Whiptail announced that its Accela flash silicon storage array has successfully completed interoperability verification testing with Cisco UCS. Accela delivers high performance and dramatically improved application response time while consuming less energy than legacy storage arrays. IPO Surges in 2Q13 Says PWC

IPO activity surged in 2Q13, with the volume of new public listings far exceeding that of 1Q13 and 2Q12, according to IPO Watch, a quarterly survey of IPOs listed on the U.S. stock exchanges conducted by PwC US. The report lists a total of 62 IPOs in the quarter, an 82 percent increase over the 34 in 1Q13, and an 88 percent increase over the 33 listings a year ago. Total proceeds raised were $13.1 billion, compared with $7.8 billion in the first quarter. More
