EMC Names Former Accenture CEO, Chairman to Board of Directors
EMC Corp. has announced the appointment of William D. Greene, former chairman of Accenture plc., to the EMC Board, effective immediately. His appointment expands the EMC BoD to 12. He served as Chairman of Accenture from August 2006 until his retirement in February 2013. From September 2004 to December 2010 he served as Accenture’s Chief Executive Officer. He joined Accenture in 1977 and became a partner in 1986. He has been director of McGraw-Hill Financial Inc. since 2011. More

Dell Mourns Death of Board Member William H. Gray III
Dell has announced the death of William H. Gray III, public servant, human rights activist, spiritual leader, and business advisor. Mr. Gray served on the Dell Board of Directors starting in November 2000, presiding over a period of rapid growth as the company expanded globally and embarked on a multi-year transformation into an end-to-end systems provider. In his nearly 13 years as a member of Dell’s Board of directors, he helped shape the strategies that have allowed Dell to develop and deliver strong technology solutions to its customers. More

Microsoft Exec to Head Zynga
Microsoft has announced that Don Mattrick, head of the Interactive Entertainment Business group for six years, is leaving to become CEO of Zynga. In an internal letter just released, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer priased Mattrick’s contributions to Microsoft’s gaming platform and wished him well. His direct reports will report to Ballmer until a replacement is announced. More
Cisco Completes Acquisition of JouleX
Cisco has completed the acquisition of privately held JouleX, provider of enterprise IT energy management for network-attached and data center assets, for $107 million in cash and retention-based incentives. The acquisition complements Cisco’s service portfolio and in particular Cisco EnergyWise, by using the network to gain visibility into and control energy use across global IT environments. JouleX will be integrated into the Connected Energy Solutions Group reporting to David Goddard, VP and GM. More
Cisco Opens Second Office in Krakow
Cisco has opened a second office site in Krakow, expanding the Cisco Global Support Center there, which opened on May 2012. The center provides technical and business services to customers, partners, and Cisco employees across multiple functional groups such as Cisco Services, Finance, Operations, and IT. It is focused on Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Russia and employs approximately 300 people. PAlilZ, the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, recognized the Cisco Global Support Center in Krakow with the Polish Investment Award in the Employment category. More
