IBM Announces Morocco Global Delivery Center, 400 New Tech Jobs

IBM has announced a new Global Delivery Center in Casablanca that will involve creating up to 400 new IT roles in Morocco over the next three years. The center will enable IBM to deliver innovative technology services in Morocco and across French-speaking Africa. It will provide IBM clients in the region with high value application development and maintenance and systems integration services. More

 

Vectra SA deploys Nationwide Fiber-Optic Broadband Network in Poland with Cisco Internet Technology

Polish cable operator Vectra S.A. has deployed a nationwide fiber-optic broadband network based on Cisco optical networking technology. The new network will deliver high-bandwidth services including voice, data, personalized video-on-demand, and mobile backhaul, to residential & business customers. In addition moving from a leased-line model to a fully owned network will help reduce operating costs. More

 

Salesforce.com Execs to Speak at Two July Investor Events

Salesforce,com has announced that the following executives will participate in these July investor events:

  • Monday, July 8, Co-Founder Parker Harris will participate in a Barclays Capital hosted conference call at 6:00 a.m. PDT (9:00 a.m. EDT).

  • Tuesday, July 9, COO George Hu will participate in a Stifel Nicolaus hosted bus tour at 3:45 p.m. PDT (5/45 p.m. EDT) in San Francisco.

LaunchKey Announces Public Beta Hosted at Switch Supernap

LaunchKey, a security provider using multi-factor authentication sign-on to eliminate passwords on smartphones and tablets has commenced a public beta test, following its private beta in May. During the public beta, the application will be available to all developers for integration into websites and mobile applications. More

New Zealand Selects CSC for Electronic Prescription System

The New Zealand Ministry of Health has awarded CSC a five-year, $17 million contract for the provision of its in-hospital prescribing and administration solution, MedChart, to all 20 District Health Boards across the country. Sponsored jointly by the National Health IT Board and the Health Quality and Safety Commission, the country’s eMedicines program aims to improve patient health through the use of electronic medication management systems, delivering high-quality information and resources to care-giving hospital staff. CSC Names Vincenzo Pagiaro Head of Italian Operations

CSC has named Vincenzo Pagliaro as the new managing director of its operations in Italy. He previously served in senior technology leadership positions with Mediobanca S.p.A., Unicredit Group, and Dexia Group. More

 

British Airways Extends Outsourcing Contract with WINS

British Airways has extended its outsourcing contract with WNS under which WINS will continue to provide a comprehensive range of services across sales & customer care, operations, and shared services including revenue management, revenue accounting, cargo operations, customer relations, data management, information security, HR services, and BA holidays. Scandinavian Airlines Extends Outsourcing Contract with WNS

Scandinavian Airlines has extended its outsourcing contract with WINS (Holdings) Ltd. Under the new contract WNS will form a new, dedicated SS Business Excellence team to provide PRA management and senior-level analytical capabilities. The group will work closely with SAS management to identify and drive transformational change and overall process efficiency within the SAS commercial departments. More
