Tresata Relaunch Shifts Focus to Monetize Big Data

Big Data-as-a-Service analytics company Tresata recently announced their newest strategy, branding and application suite with a re-launched website.

Abhishek Mehta, Tresata founder, explains that the “big refocus on our relaunch is around this core concept that we have is to monetize Big Data.  The whole activity in this space for a very long time we focused on how can we take the technology and get the most wide adoption form it.  And they’re seeing in the market is the question, ‘Well I can understand the technology parts of it, how do I monetize Big Data?’  So it’s a lot of focus on the second part of the term Big Data, which is data, as well as a renewed emphasis on how our service as application suites are helping our clients monetize Big Data.”

He further explains that their strategy is based on two core anchors and one core vision.  The first of the two core anchors is a balanced knowledge base around business and technology, and the second is being able to do everything around one technology ecosystem.  As for their core vision, Mehta explains that it is even simpler – understanding customer behavior.

Mehta believes that Hadoop offers a lot of advantages to apps.

“We think that if any company in the future has to provide an analytical solution, whether it’s built by themselves internally like Google has – Google is basically a Big Data search app, and Facebook is basically a Big Data social app – you have to architect around a technology architecture that scales, which Hadoop as you all know does, allows you to handle both structured and unstructured data,” Mehta explains.  “This is very important point – both the pieces of data, both kinds of data, both varieties of data, have to be put together in one place, which Hadoop allows you to do.

“And Lastly and more importantly, algorithms have to scale as well.  Hadoop isn’t a Big Data storage platform massively panelled, it’s a massively paneled compute engine and by taking algorithms that can leverage the power of Hadoop to crunch massive amounts of data, different kinds of data very, very quickly is a very unique advantage.  Our application suite, the power it produces for every dollar of hardware and the technical capability and prowess of our algorithms are unmatched in the industry, on any other system in the market,” says Mehta.

Mehta states that creating applications to monetize Big Data is not an easy task which gives Tresata a huge advantage but he sees others following their step.  He predicts that apps will be emerging for verticals, not horizontal, that’s why they have stuck on the vertical and Mehta believes that their prediction is right.
