Cloud Deployment: A Bottleneck No More Using CloudMunch Open DevOps Management Platform

OpenStack is quickly becoming the global cloud computing platform standard. So much so that developers’ roles are changing with much more focus on automation technologies and cloud systems. Today, developers are often working at assembling services, collaborating with external cloud providers, and using automation tools.

All the cards indicate that OpenStack as a framework and community is heading in the right direction. OpenStack has emerged as a broadly adopted open-source IaaS platform across enterprises and community. Now to support OpenStack cloud deployment, CloudMunch, the DevOps management platform provider, introduced the world’s first Open DevOps platform for OpenStack.

In order to keep the level of flexibility, CloudMunch’s DevOps platform for OpenStack offers required tools for developers and IT operations for development and continuous integration with continuous deployment to OpenStack.

“With the addition of OpenStack to our DevOps management platform, we’re making the vision of Open DevOps a reality,” said Pradeep Prabhu, CEO CloudMunch.  “At CloudMunch, we know it’s about choice so we focus on giving development and operations the freedom to choose whichever tools that make sense for their functions while uniting them into a powerful DevOps management platform to facilitate cross-team delivery.”

The continuous delivery platform makes it easy for developers to manage applications and infrastructure on their way to the cloud. The platform provides plug-n-play framework support for popular tools as Jenkins, Chef, Selenium and others, bringing continuous integration, continuous delivery, and advanced DevOps management features to a single SaaS application system.

“As OpenStack becomes more broadly deployed across private and public clouds, a vibrant ecosystem of companies with complimentary solutions is maturing,” said Heidi Bretz, Director of Business Development for the OpenStack Foundation. “We welcome technology platforms like CloudMunch that make it even easier for users to do Continuous Integration, Deployment and Delivery of their applications to OpenStack clouds.”

The DevOps management platform also simplifies continuous delivery for distributed DevOps teams. By combining application automation tools and managing the entire DevOps process with any tool, CloudMunch makes Open DevOps a reality.

It features project level self-service provisioning for management of infrastructure at the project level; DevOps App Builder for rapid creation and deployment of new apps; customizable software delivery progression workflow for standard checks on deployment and testing; and cloud scale DevOps engine for integration enterprise master-master and master-slave clusters.

According to Gartner research, worldwide PaaS market revenue is expected to reach $1.7 billion by 2015 from $512 million in 2010. By continuously compiling, validating and testing the codes, and using open source OpenStack platform (which has a strong support from Rackspace), CloudMunch wants to take large pie of that figure. The company has another offering as CloudMunch DevOps platform, which intend to simplify the continuous delivery of applications for developers.
