Syncsort is pushing into the channel with a new partner program for regional systems integrators (RSIs). The Woodcliff Lake, NJ.-based data integration specialist is looking to team up with RSIs that specialize in analytics.
“As companies tackle Big Data challenges, the common denominator is finding innovative solutions that drive better business outcomes in less time, with fewer resources and at a lower TCO,” stated Josh Rogers the president of Syncsort’s data integration business. “With our Data Integration solutions, RSI partners can add value by helping customers achieve this goal.”
Syncsort says that RSIs that join its partner program stand to benefit from “engagement with a proven industry leader with thousands of customers.” The company’s offerings portfolio spans Windows, Linux, UNIX and mainframe environments, as well as Hadoop.
Partners that offer Hadoop-related solutions and services are eligible for a free version of the firm’s DMX ETL software, which transforms the batch analytics framework into a full-fledged ETL platform. The package includes a Linux Virtual Machine with Cloudera CDH 4.2 and DMX-h ETL Edition, along with “use case accelerators” and sample data. Sales tools, technical information and training materials are available for download from Syncsort’s newly launched Partner Edge Portal.
The launch of the company’s partner program follows the release of a study into Big Data adoption in Europe. Over 40 percent of the organizations Syncsort surveyed utilize Cloudera’s distribution, one in three use vanilla Hadoop, and only 18 percent leverage the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP). MapR ranks fourth with a 9 percent stake of the market.
Wikibon Principal Research Contributor Jeff Kelly credits Cloudera’s lead to the fact that it entered the market years before the competition. He believes that Hadoop is poised to become the foundation for the “next generation data platform.”
