Cortado Releases Corporate Server 7 with iOS 7 Business Features

From the SiliconANGLE mailbox:

App Wrapping, age 2 years, died early this morning at its home after the recent announcement of iOS 7 caused its ultimate death.

At a young age, App Wrapping was a favored method of MAM to apply policies to mobile apps. While App Wrapping seemed like a good investment for many companies, it lived a short and costly life. Companies who have invested in App Wrapping will now have worthless technology once iOS 7 is released.

App Wrapping is survived by its mother, MDM, and father, MAM.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a briefing with Cortado be made instead. If you’d like to pay your condolences, I’m happy to coordinate a time for you to speak

How could I turn that down?  And so, I scheduled a briefing with Henning Volkmer, President and CEO of Denver Colorado based Cortado, a mobile management productivity company that has announced a major new revision that is destined to make a big splash in a sea of Mobile Device Management solutions.  Cortado’s announcement of the arrival of Corporate Server 7 incorporates a host of new business features that are based on Apple’s forthcoming iOS 7.  The product is designed for the enterprise that is focused on mobility solutions where productivity is the main concern, and has all the ease of use called on by the demands of mobile device management in today’s environments along with enterprise security and advanced functionality.  Corporate Server 7 is a powerful tool that runs as an on-premise solution, it integrates directly with the company directory for smooth and complimentary security elements.

iOS 7 Features

Cortado Corporate Server supports Android and Blackberry, but the new business-friendly iOS 7 features are a highlight.  Apple’s iOS 7 will be made available soon and it has a good deal of new business-focused features that change a lot of things.  For example iOS 7 features the ability to have a corporate controlled-VPN launch automatically when certain apps are launched.  This is a rather useful configuration that can give you tremendous secure capabilities to launch your corporate applications securely.  You can also now dictate which applications open different application types, and even control which account credential certain applications are opened under.  iOS 7 has also added single sign-on capabilities, persistent data controls, and more.  Cortado Corporate Server 7 incorporates all of these updates and more, while it also retains and enhances rich functionality of secure file sharing and mobile printing for business.

With the newly announced Cortado Corporate Server 7, businesses can:

–        Manage iOS 7 business features based on the Windows Active Directory rights system

–        Fully set up new devices with e-mail accounts, VPN and Wi-Fi profiles

–        Selectively delete apps and data on smartphones or tablets

–        Create a secure container for iPads and iPhones

–        Use the native Apple e-mail app in the secure container

–        Connect the container via a container-specific VPN with the file and print systems in the company

–        Embed intranet applications in the mobile container via the secure browser

–        Synchronize laptop, PC and Mac folders and constantly backup documents while simultaneously making them available on iPhones and iPads

–        And much more

Cortado Corporate Server 7 also integrates the management of these new iOS 7 business features through its tight integration with Active Directory.  Having this kind of management integration is an extremely compelling enterprise features as it minimizes the need for another process or construct for deployment.  It includes Wi-Fi, VPN profiling, removing data and apps, email and device deployment.  Security features include deployment of secure containers for iOS devices that can run email, contain VPNs with file and print systems from the company within, intranet applications, and more.

In all the Cortado Corporate Server 7 product looks like a winner.  iOS 7 is just around the corner and the decision to incorporate these powerful capabilities is an indicator of how significant Apple sees the need for enterprise features.  With so many devices out there that will certainly be upgrading to the platform there is little doubt that harnessing these capabilities into an enterprise managed platform that integrates easily with corporate business IT strategies is a big facilitator of an elevated security profile.  At the same time the flexibility of Cortado’s solution ensures not only security, but an extension of the corporate network, files, and applications in a manner that is manageable, easily deployed and integrated.  Cortado Corporate Server 7 is due for release at the end of October 2013.  Cortado offers a fully functional version demo version of the current version, Cortado Corporate Server 6.5 at www.cortado.com/ccs
