HotelTonight is a mobile service that helps people on the go find the nearest and affordable hotel where they can spend the night.  The popular app recently secured $45 million in a Series D funding led by Coatue Management, a technology-focused investment firm.  Also in participation in this round of funding is GGV Capital, an expansion stage venture capital firm focused on the United States and China, as well as existing investors  Battery Ventures, Accel Partners, U.S. Venture Partners (USVP), and First Round Capital.

The round of funding will be used for the expansion of HotelTonight such as doubling its product, sales and support staff in the next year, as well as funding additional global offices; expanding its domestic and overseas presence and hotel relationships with a goal to be geographically ubiquitous; and further enhancing the HotelTonight on-demand booking platform, adding unique features designed exclusively for the mobile traveler and the real-time needs of its hotel partners.

Because of HotelTonight, many have enjoyed quick getaways right in their own cities.  Even on a tight budget, you can sleep like a queen or king.  You just have to be patient in waiting for great deals because offerings change on a day-to-day basis, and they go live at noon – local time.
