Dell Revives Venue Brand with Four New Tablets

Not to be outdone by Microsoft, Dell has unveiled a new line of Venue Tablets that offer greater flexibility at a lower price point than the Surface Pro 2. The crown jewel of the product family is the Dell Venue 11 Pro, a multi-purpose Windows device that gives customers a choice between cost-efficiency and performance.

At $500, the cheapest model comes with an Intel Bay Trail processor and 2 gigabytes of RAM. What it lacks in horsepower it more than makes up for in mobility, weighing only 1.57 pounds with a 10-hour battery. Customers who are more keen on performance can choose from several Intel Haswell-based processors, including the powerful Core i5-4300Y, which can run standard desktop applications as well as games. The tablet ships with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of flash storage.

The Venue 11 Pro is joined by the eight-inch Venue 8 Pro, which starts at $299.99, and two Android 4.2.2 tablets that can can be upgraded to KitKat. Both devices feature a 1,280 x 800 IPS display and a 2GHz dual-core Intel Z2580 processor.

Sam Burd, the vice president of Dell’s Personal Computing Group, commented that “people today expect the best experience possible from their technology – they are counting on it to keep them connected and move with them, wherever they are. The new Dell Venue tablets and XPS laptops give customers the stellar experience they expect from us, with performance that allows them to work how they want, when they want, in a design they’ll be proud to show off and own.”

Last month, Nokia revealed that it will unveil six new devices at an upcoming event in Abu Dhabi. The lineup is expected to include the Nokia Sirius, a Windows RT tablet that is rumored to feature a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and a 10.1-inch, 1920×1080 screen.
