AIRO HEALTH has unveiled a revolutionary tracker that hopes to put other fitness trackers to shame. Dubbed the AIRO, the bracelet tracks four parameters – nutrition, stress, sleep and exercise.
To track nutrition, AIRO uses different wavelengths of lights to look into the bloodstream and detect metabolites while and after you eat. This method allows AIRO to measure caloric intake and even the quality of meals consumed, to provide recommendations on how a person can improve nutrition.
To assess stress, AIRO uses heart rate variability (HRV) to monitor micro-fluctuations in stress throughout the day. AIRO alerts the users if their stress level crosses a personal threshold and even recommends steps so they can recover from it. Most fitness trackers count steps to measure your exercise progress, but AIRO measures daily exertion through heart rate and caloric burn then use these metrics to detect how intense the activity has been and even checks to see how the body has recovered from activity over the course of the next few days.

And finally, to monitor sleep, AIRO looks at the autonomic nervous system to detect sleep cycles such as deep sleep, light sleep or REM sleep, and calculate how much of a user’s night was restorative.
“We built AIRO to help people become more proactive about their health. By aggregating data around the four pillars of health, AIRO notices patterns in your behavior and tells you what you can do, each day, to live a healthier life,” explains Abhilash Jayakumar, co-founder and CEO of Airo Health. “We’re excited about giving people the ability to take control of their health in a way that has never before been possible.”
AIRO is now available for pre-order at the launch price of $149, regular price is at $199. The device will start shipping in fall 2014.

Fitness trackers glean information based on your distance travelled, the flights of stairs you ascended, your quality of sleep, and even the food you intake, but not how much force you have exerted in lifting weights. Thanks to the Indiegogo project PUSH, those who want to bulk up now will have the data they need to improve their routine.
PUSH tracks how your body is performing at a certain weight and provides insight to help you optimize the load. It allows you to push your body to its true potential, allowing you to get stronger while minimizing the risk of injuries.
You can create or download routines, set goals, monitor your progress, and even share these date with your friends using your Android or iOS device.
PUSH still has 22 days to go, but it has already achieved its funding goal of $80,000.
Dubbed as the first open sensor for fitness and health, Angel is making waves in the crowdfunding community. Angel is a wristband that monitors a person’s pulse, temperature, activity and blood oxygen level, then sends the acquired information to apps on your smartphone, laptop and pretty soon even your treadmill.
It is designed with both users and developers in mind as Angel’s protocol, API and sensor data are open so more apps can utilize the data the device is gathering. Developers can use the input of all the sensors to create a workout tracker to provide an exhaustive evaluation of your fitness; create a fertility calendar app by using the temperature sensor to detect ovulation for the best chance of getting pregnant; or create an app that help people detect early warning signs of a heart attack.
With four days left on Indiegogo, Angel has raised $273,809, well above its funding goal of $100,000.
