Top Flash Shops + Apps for the Dapper Dude

Men may cringe at the term “Metrosexual” these days, but that doesn’t mean they want any less to look good.  The rise of flash sales sites like Ideeli have been a boon for women of the world, with many launching dedicated sections for menswear as well.  And these days, it’s the manlier the better.  Beards have made a comeback, while Don Draper has introduced corporate style back into American culture.   If you take mainstream media at face value, you’re apt to think only the rich can afford to look so good all the time.  But do you really have to break the bank in order to look great?

According to SiliconANGLE’s Art Lindsey, you don’t need to spend so much – all you need is to invest in quality clothes, specifically suits, to make you presentable.

The best version of yourself

In the blog post, Sharp Dressed Man: Look Like a Million Bucks, on the Cheap, Lindsey discussed how he was asked by a buddy of his as to how he manages to be the best dressed man in town.  Though he himself doesn’t claim to be the best-dressed, he does impart some fashion tips that not only leave you looking great for any occasion, but saves you money.

Lindsey covers all the bases, from suit to accessories, ties and undergarments.  They’re very useful tips, and any professional man will be grateful for the advice.  Be sure to read Lindsey’s entire article for a comprehensive breakdown on the basics, how to wear suits, and where to buy them.

To further help the well-dressed man, we’ve compiled a short list of some of the top e-stores and apps where you can fulfill all of Lindsey’s well-placed tips.  You boys can’t let the girls have all the fun.  From male-oriented versions of Pinterest to beard-specific apps, there’s plenty to keep you looking good and staying on budget, thanks to flash sales and other inspiring collections on the web.

Man-sites

Manterest, Gentlemint, and Werd. are platforms much like Pinterest, but they are dedicate to men’s fashion and other manly stuff.  You can use them to scout for items or talk to others to help you in your quest to become the best possible version of yourself, or at least a better looking version.

For flash sales, try Gilt, My Habit and Fab.com, while Lindsey also gains plenty of inspiration from The Grommet and Fancy.

Fashion app

Cool Guy is an app available for both Android and iOS.  It is a style planner and shopping assistant, all in one.  It helps you pick the best outfits based on items from your own closet, and also helps you find an item of clothing you saw in a particular shop that caught your eye.

.

Tie the knot

If you are one of those people who looks good in a tie but for the love of fashion gurus do not know how to tie one, then Necktie Deluxe is the app for you.  This app teaches you different knots as well as what knots go with which collar, so you’ll always look good. And it also offers tips on how to care for ties, such as how to wash and iron them.

To beard or not to beard

Will you look good with a beard?  Or will you look like Abe Lincoln’s doppelgänger?  Check out Beardify and test some virtual facial hair styles before growing one of your own.
