UP-START Cloud Award finalists

The UP conference took place this week in Santa Clara, CA. The conference focuses on cloud technology and how scientists, developers, executives, researchers, engineers, and IT managers can use the technology within their computational and business challenges. The conference also announces an award series called the UP-START cloud awards, founded in 2010 by Cloudcor, Inc. They are given out to recognize certain extraordinary achievements within the cloud industry and then announced to the business and technology community. The awards are voted on by participants at the heart of the cloud community, including Cloudcor’s significant LinkedIn cloud user group, comprising 250,000+ cloud professionals.

This year’s 2-stage open vote will bestow the ultimate award winners with distinguished prestige in 19 different categories. The last part of the voting took place at the UP conference. The goal in each category is to recognize the most outstanding cloud solution, measured by technical innovation, marketability and likelihood to be a market leader. Among the award finalists are disruptive and next-generation cloud computing companies, who are defining cloud technology as selected by the process.

Awards

The 2013 UP-START Cloud Awards are now established in the cloud community as the de-facto recognition platform to cultivate the understanding, appreciation and advancement of the contribution of cloud computing to the business and technology community.

The finalists in the various categories features a number of the well-known names you would expect, and two of the categories have Codero hosting as a finalist. Codero Hosting is nominated as a finalist in the prestigious categories of “Best Cloud Hosting Solution” and “Best Hybrid Cloud Solution”.

Nomination in those particular categories herald the importance of the company’s specific technology targets from within the community. This recognition is specifically for Codero’s On-Demand Hybrid Cloud product, labeled the industry’s only true hybrid solution and for Codero Cloud 2.0, an innovative platform that provides extreme cloud hosting flexibility and scalability as main features. As a finalist, the remaining candidates are but one of three that could end up with the ultimate award.

Nominations are considered on following criteria:

• Innovation – Does the product have new or improved capabilities? Does it introduce new or improved technologies?
• Integration – Does the product operate and easily integrate with existing systems? Does the product fit to budget, team size, technologies and vendors involved?
• Functionality – Does the product delivers what it claims?
• Value – Is the solution cost effective and adds value to the firm?
• Usability and Scalability – Are the products functions clear and easy to use?

“It is an honor to be finalists in the 2013 UP-START Cloud awards in two categories. There is a lot of noise and confusion in the cloud computing sector right now and acknowledgement such as this helps set Codero’s best-of-breed technologies apart,” said Emil Sayegh, CEO and president of Codero Hosting. “We’re thrilled that, like our many customers that have adopted our cloud and hybrid solutions, the UP community recognizes the value of our unique and differentiated approach on both our Cloud 2.0, and On-Demand Hybrid hosting solutions.”
