Microsoft Connect() online event connects mobile-first, cloud-first developers

microsoft logo brand building signIn a move to take mobile-first, cloud-first and DevOps trends to next level, Microsoft Corporation is hosting an online developer event, on November 12th and 13th. Connect() will talk about the future of its developer tools in a cloud-first, mobile-first and DevOps embracing market.

Microsoft describes the Connect() event like a cloud-first, mobile-first, code-first virtual event focused on current and future Microsoft technologies for developers. Build on your current skills, unleash your creativity, and expand what’s possible to deliver unprecedented innovations.

The virtual event will showcase next developer tools, developer services and application platforms across Microsoft. Visual Studio, cloud development with Azure and Visual Studio, Microsoft Azure platform & tools, DevOps best practices and multi-device development will be the centerpiece of the event, which will be held Nov. 12 and 13 and will be webcast live.

The first day of the event will be based on Visual studio and Microsoft’s developers toolset, while in the second day, Microsoft’s engineering team will interact virtually with developers to provide insight about the newest tools, frameworks and services.

While only a few hundred people will be physically invited to the event and rest available online, Microsoft will talk about how the company has been trying to help mobile and cloud developers create mobile and cloud apps that work across the platform. With C# and Xamarin or JavaScript and the Cordova tools for Visual Studio preview, Visual Studio developers can target the breadth of devices that their customers and clients demand. And when targeting the Windows platform, developers can leverage universal Windows app projects in Visual Studio.

“A year ago, we launched Visual Studio 2013 and announced the availability of Visual Studio Online,” Microsoft’s Somasegar said in a blog post. “Developers have been adopting both at a great rate with over 7 million downloads of VS2013 and over 1.7 million registered accounts in Visual Studio Online so far. Following through on our commitment to a faster release cadence, in the year since those launches, we’ve released 3 major updates to Visual Studio 2013 and 15 updates to the Visual Studio Online, with the majority of developers taking advantage of these new updates. Through these updates and additional technology previews, we’ve talked about how we’re embracing the mobile-first, cloud-first and DevOps trends.”

Microsoft is clearly trying to push Visual Studio Online, mobile platform and its developer tools to become more transparent and to attract more developers. Connect() conference will reveal Microsoft’s next wave of innovation and releases across all of these areas where it plans to expand developers tools to create universal apps that will work seamlessly with any devices that run the upcoming Windows 10 operating system.
