Which stores open early on Thanksgiving Day? Beat Black Friday

Thanksgiving Day has become an opportunity to fill up on food and savings. As Black Friday becomes a holiday all its own, retailers have begun opening their doors on Thanksgiving Thursday. If you’d rather shop for deals than watch TV show marathons on Thanksgiving afternoon, here’s a list of stores that will be open ahead of Black Friday.

Walmart

Walmart opens its doors at 6PM on Thanksgiving except in areas prohibited by law. Check your local Walmart for scheduled hours of operation.

Walmart is offering a one-hour guarantee deal which requires interested shoppers to line up an hour before the event starts so they are sure to get the item they desire at Black Friday prices even if stocks run out. If the item you want runs out, you get a 1-Hour Guarantee Ticket to hand to the cashier for purchase at checkout. Hold on to that receipt and register it at www.walmart.com/1hourguarantee where you’ll confirm to which store you would like to have your item shipped. After you are done with the registration process, you will receive email alerts as to when your item will be ready for pick-up which is guaranteed to be ready for pick-up before Christmas.

.

Sears

Sears opens on Thanksgiving Day starting at 6PM where permitted by law. The sale lasts until 1PM on Black Friday or until supplies lasts.

The store offers exclusive deals for Thanksgiving which are separate from deals offered on Black Friday and on Saturday, and deals offered for the Thanksgiving weekend. This is one way of making sure that not all their patrons rush to the store on Thanksgiving in hopes of  a smash hit for Black Friday sales. There are also deals that will be offered exclusively online if you’d rather shop from the comfort of the couch.

.

RadioShack

RadioShack opens its doors 8AM to 12PM and 5PM to 12AM on Thanksgiving, and 6AM on Black Friday.

The store is also offering free touchscreen gloves for the first 50 customers in each if its stores. If you can’t wait for Thanksgiving or Black Friday, RadioShack’s deals starts online on Wednesday, November 26, at 10PM. The store is offering 10 to 60 percent off on various items such as smartphones, portable speakers, earphones, computer mouse, fitness bands and other gadgets.

 .

Macy’s

Macy’s starts its sale on Thanksgiving Day from 6PM until 1PM on Black Friday and continues on Saturday, November 29, from 7AM to 1PM.

Macy’s offers discounts on clothes, shoes and accessories, as well as home appliances and furniture. You can also get deals on cookware and kitchenware, bath essentials, as well as bedroom needs such as pillows and beds. Macy’s doesn’t offer electronic gadgets such as smartphones and tablets, so if that’s what you’re aiming to purchase, skip this store.

Stores closed on Thanksgiving Day

Not all stores are opening their doors on Thanksgiving, giving their employees the day to celebrate with family or friends, or just to rest up before the chaotic Black Friday madness.

Some stores who chose to honor the Thanksgiving holiday include Costco, Barnes & Noble, Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Nordstrom, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, DSW, Pier 1 Imports, Burlington Coat Factory, Petco, Radioshack, GameStop, Patagonia, REI, Dillard’s, and American Girl.
