Samsung Announces The Galaxy A6 - Maybe? NEWS

Samsung launches Galaxy A7: ultra-thin, metal uni-body and 8-core processor

Samsung Announces The Galaxy A5 And E5 Smartphone Line

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.  has officially introduced the new ultra-thin Galaxy A7 smartphone. Coming in at a thickness of just 6.3mm, the Galaxy A7 beats the recently launched Galaxy A5 and becomes Samsung’s thinnest smartphone to hit the market.

Rumors about the Galaxy A7’s specifications leaked in December, and since then the anticipation for the smartphone has been growing.

“We strive to develop devices that appeal to a broad range of consumers and are ahead of the next big social trend,” said JK Shin, CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communication at Samsung Electronics. “Combining both a stunning metallic design and a powerful performance, the Galaxy A7 is stylish while delivering the superior user experience.”

The Samsung Galaxy A7 comes with a metal uni-body and a 5.5-inch full HD super AMOLED display, making it slightly larger than the A5 model announced in October. The device comes with optional dual-SIM functionality. It comes equipped with a multicore processor, combining two separate quad core processors, dual 1.8GHz and 1.3GHz quad-core processors (or 1.5GHz and 1.0GHz in the dual-SIM version). In addition, it features a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC or 32-bit Exynos 5430 solution.

Memory and internal storage are 2GB of RAM and 16GB respectively with a long-lasting 2,600mAh battery powering the device. The device runs Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System (OS) and TouchWiz UI, with an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop in the works.

For camera enthusiasts, the device sports a 13.0-megapixel main camera and a 5.0-megapixel front-facing camera.

The device also comes with an ‘Always Clear Voice Auto Control’ feature, which will reduce background noise during a call. As well as a ‘Private Mode’ that adds an extra layer of security for important documents.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 tips the scales at 141 grams with dimensions of 151 x 76.2 x 6.3 mm. You will be able to choose between dark blue, white or gold color schemes.

With the company bracing themselves for its first profit decline in three years, they will be hoping that the latest additions to their Galaxy range will increase their sales.

When the Galaxy A7 will hit stores and how much we will be paying is still to be confirmed; however, reports last week estimated a price tag of $420 off contract and the device arriving in store in February.
