Node.js is the platform built into Chrome’s JavaScript runtime for easily building fast, scalable network applications. It was recently announced that version 0.12 will be available for download any day now. The update, which took years in development, is said to feature round-robin clustering that provides better distribution of Node.js across processor core, performance enhancements, improved memory management and improvements in Transport Layer Security.
