CliniCloud’s non-contact thermometer

CliniCloud brings healthcare at home

A thermometer and a stethoscope are two of the most used diagnostics tools in clinics and hospitals and with CliniCloud, healthcare can be delivered to homes. CliniCloud is a set comprising a Bluetooth-connected stethoscope and non-contact thermometer for home use. The data is collected and saved in the cloud for sharing with a physician from Doctor on Demand, an on-call doctor service.

The non-contact thermometer uses infrared technology to get an accurate temperature reading without disrupting the patient, which is great for taking temperatures on sleeping babies. The stethoscope is able to listen to sounds produced by the heart and lungs, helping people develop an informed opinion on what is happening to the patient.

An app for iOS and Android devices integrates readings from the two devices and stores data on the device or the cloud. The app also delivers a guided check-up featuring intuitive prompts as to where the stethoscope and thermometer should be placed to get the most accurate readings, as well as provide a timeline of the data collected so you or your physician can review and analyze the data. It is able to keep records for the whole family as you can create multiple CliniCloud accounts and have them all available in a single app or device.

CliniCloud is slated for a July 2015 rollout and you can pre-order it now for only $109.

Wishbone: the smallest smart thermometer

The team at Joywing Tech developed what they claim as the market’s smallest smart thermometer, called Wishbone. Wishbone is a contactless thermometer that uses a passive infrared sensor to take temperatures in under two seconds. Wishbone connects to a smartphone via the 3.5mm headphone jack and the unique Y-shape design allows the user to easily see the screen and point the sensor to the person or object at the same time. It can display the temperature reading either in Fahrenheit or Celcius. One end of the Y-arm holds the passive infrared sensor while the other end holds LR41 (AG3) button cell battery which has a battery life of about a year.

An app displays a record of the temperature readings over time which allows users to see and compare collected data and make better decisions as to how to proceed with the current situation. Wishbone also allows users to create multiple profiles so it will be easier to track temperature readings from various members of the family.

In the future, Wishbone will be able to take object and ambient thermometer and if its Kickstarter funding reaches or surpasses $200,000 a pet mode could be an additional feature.
