The Samsung S6 Announcement NEWS

New Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. the iPhone 6

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has officially unveiled its new lineup of flagship devices at the Mobile World Congress 2015 this week. In the months leading up to Samsung’s big reveal rumors and expectations ran high, as the electronics maker has rebuilt the Galaxy S handset from scratch. Samsung even dubbed the device Project Zero.

As flaunted in Samsung ads, the “Next Big Thing” has finally arrived in two versions; the standard Galaxy S6 and a Galaxy S6 Edge. Both devices sport metallic edges, Gorilla Glass 4 back covers (not metal), and similar under-the-hood components. What sets the two devices apart is that the S6 Edge sports two curved edges.

But how does this new Galaxy compare to what its top competitor, Apple, has to offer with the iPhone 6?

The Verdict

The new Galaxy S6 looks really good, even better than the iPhone 6. The problem is, by improving its aesthetics, Samsung abandoned some of the much-loved features of its smartphones, such as an interchangeable battery and the ability to add more storage to the device.

The special features of the Galaxy S6 have yet to be announced, so we’re not exactly sure what makes this device better than other flagship smartphones out in the market. Plus, we have no clue how much the basic model of this device costs, but we’re hoping that it won’t hit the $1,000 mark.
