How much will the Galaxy S6 cost?

When Samsung released the Galaxy S5 last year, not many were impressed because the device didn’t provide the astounding features some had hoped for. Thus, Samsung soon announced that it would be working on the next Galaxy from the ground up, dubbing it Project Zero. This year, we’ll finally know if Project Zero is a success and if the devices deliver more jaw-dropping features than the S5. But could these new features cause the prices of the devices to spike?

According to a report from Ars Technica, the Galaxy S6 Edge will be priced at €949 ($1,076) for the 64GB version and €1,049 ($1,189) for the 128GB model. For the Galaxy S6, pricing starts at €749 ($849), €849 ($963) and €949 ($1,076) for the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, respectively. Looking at the price list, you would immediately notice that the devices are very expensive, valued at over $1,000. But it should be noted that the US price is not simply taken by converting euros into dollars, which means the over $1,000 price tag could change. It will probably be lower, around $800, but is that price reasonable for an Android device?

No official price for the devices have been released; let’s just hope that network carriers will be offering affordable plans for the new Galaxy devices.
