Birst reshapes Big Data for the user with new release

Big Data is rapidly transforming the way businesses operate, but there are numerous ways in which data analysis can be presented and used.

The results of data analysis – a mishmash of graphs, visualizations and confusing dashboards – can often be overwhelming and confusing, which is why there’s such an advantage to be had in presenting data in a style that’s comfortable for each individual user. Enter business intelligence specialist Birst Inc., which has just launched its Birst 5X Adaptive User Experience platform that allows people to work with data the way they want to, without their curiosity or creativity being suppresed.

The new release comes with updates to Birst’s Visual Discovery Capabilities and Dashboards, together with an enhanced Birst Mobile experience. One of the new features is an Open Client interface that allows users to view the results of data analysis Birst’s User Data Tier with their preferred front-end tool, be it Microsoft Excel, Tableau or R.

By allowing people to view data using the tools of their choice, Birst 5X Adaptive User Experience delivers what the company calls a “two-tier analytics model”, combining agility with governance. Moreover, the solution adapts to user’s mobile work style, so they can access crucial business insights on the go.

“Birst is continuing to pioneer a two-tier approach to BI and analytics. With Birst 5X we are rethinking the user experience by focusing on how people interact with data instead of putting them in a rigid user role”, said Junaid Saiyed, VP Product Management and Engineering at Birst. “Birst 5X gives people an agile experience that adapts to their work style, whether they need operational dashboards or visual discovery, in the office or on the road, and all against a trusted source of truth”.

Birst 5X also supports the ability to switch between two different modes, so users can view data from the dashboard or in a visual discovery format. On mobile, in offers an enhanced experience that includes support for “disconnected analysis”, giving users access to business critical information anytime, anywhere, as well as the ability to interact with live data with or without network connectivity. Finally, the software’s responsive design ensures that data is displayed correctly, depending on the form factor of the device being used.
