IBM’s performance management offers alignment, adaptability | #IBMVision

Performance-management software allows businesses to perform basic budgeting and forecasting, as well as complex financial and operational planning. When companies graduate from basic forecasting, they use performance-management tools to “achieve more alignment across the organization, and make sure their operational plans, marketing campaigns, sales revenue plans, and demand cycles all map back to the financial plan,” Dan Beer, IBM’s director of Performance Management, told theCUBE during IBM Vision.

IBM’s Enterprise performance-management solution takes users through scorecarding and allows businesses to “apply the right resources so they know they’re going to achieve them,” said Beer. “A company can roll out planning-based solutions, profitability analysis and marketing campaign management,” he explained.

Using technologies for advanced insight

An advanced performance management solution is critical in today’s competitive marketplace. “The leading companies are the nimble ones,” said Beer, noting “those that have performance-management solutions in place can see where they are succeeding and failing, and use technologies to perform discovery of that data. They use supporting knowledge to get advanced insight.”

Beer and team are looking forward to the next wave of performance management software, which IBM calls TM1 Next. “We will incorporate the embarrassment of riches that we have across IBM into our products.”
