HP software initiatives aim to transform IT business | #HPDiscover

At HP Discover, Hewlett-Packard Co. leaders discussed the company’s software shift from technology services to a transformation of the business of IT.

“We’ve been working on automation,” Jerome Labat, global CTO of HP Software told theCUBE. “We’re looking at data and Big Data as a way to provide insight, to solve the existing job of IT in a new way. We’re thinking about the predictive enterprise going forward. Data and deep insight are going to allow us to resolve problems faster and connect dots that we were not able to in the past.”

theCUBE cohost Dave Vellante asked Labat if HP needed a stronger presence in the “system of engagement” model. Labat argued that a subdued presence in this arena could work to its advantage.

“We’re not bogged down,” he said. “And we have the engines that are going to allow a customer to get there. With the technology from the Autonomy acquisition, we can completely change the game.”
