Samsung unveils Galaxy Note 5 with keyboard, improved stylus
Unveiling a handful of new devices, today Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. hopes to regain lost market share in the smartphone sector, and possibly make new gains in the smartwatch space. We’re blogging live from the Samsung Unpacked streaming event: here’s what Samsung has announced so far regarding its newest phablet, the Galaxy note 5:

The Note 5 has a curved back, and an improved S Pen stylus for more precision and a clicking mechanism to easily pop the S Pen out.
Air Command has also been improved for the S Pen, which delivers more functionality when you hover it on the screen. The S Pen is now more precise, gives instant access to your favorites, and even when the screen is turned off, you can now write on it using the S Pen. Another upgrade is improved screen capture for longer, larger screenshots. The Samsung phablet comes with a physical keyboard add on called the Keyboard Cover. It gives you the option of using your phone with a full multitouch screen or enjoy your device with a smaller multitouch screen and physical keyboard to make typing faster and easier.
The Note 5 boasts features such as a 5.7-inch QHD display Super AMOLED, 4GB RAM, 16MP rear camera 5MP front camera, double tapping the home button launches the camera, 4K shooting cameras, and built-in fast wireless charging that can go from empty to full in just 120 minutes, 30 percent faster than conventional charging.
A new feature called Live Broadcast was also introduced which allows users to directly stream from your phone to YouTube.
The Galaxy Note 5 will be available in stores august 21st in the U.S. and Canada. Pre-orders in the U.S. start this afternoon.
Samsung Pay
A new mobile payment feature was also introduced which is compatible for use with both NFC and MAGSTRIPE readers, making it virtually accepted everywhere and it is the first mobile payments solution to support store-branded credit cards. Samsung has partnered with Visa, MasterCard, Bank of America, Chase, American Express, Citi, US Bank, Blackhawk Network, First Data, Synchrony Financial, and supports Samsung Card, Shinhan Card, KB Kookmin Card, Hyundai Card, Lotte Card, NH Card, BCcard, KEB Hana Card, and Woori Card. It is protected by Samsung KNOX to ensure that all your card details are safe and secure.
Samsung Pay will go live in South Korea on August 20, and on September 28 in the U.S.. The service will become available in the near future in China, Spain and other countries.
