MemSQL just made it super easy to deploy Apache Spark

MemSQL Inc., builder of the fast, in-memory MemSQL database for transactions and analytics, has taken the wraps off of an integrated Apache Spark solution to give enterprises an easy way to access real-time analytics.

Called Spark Streamliner, the solution gives enterprises a way to deploy Spark without the need to write any code, doing away with one of the biggest headaches of any deployment. Spark is highly regarded as one of the most valuable tools in the box when it comes to consuming real-time data pipelines and streaming analytics, but until now it’s only been an option for those who’re skilled in the Java or Scala coding languages.

With Spark Streamliner, MemSQL is giving organizations a way to to perform one-click Spark deployments for super-fast installs. The solution also provides an easy Web-based user interface allowing for multiple management of data pipelines. Spark Streamliner is an open-source solution, available to download for free on GitHub.

Enterprises face a greater than ever need to integrate the various types of data flowing though their organizations, and MemSQL argues that deploying real-time data pipelines with its database and Spark is the best solution for companies to keep up. The company adds that the transactional and analytical features of MemSQL provide the perfect foundation for enterprises to create applications without forsaking on performance.

Spark Streamliner real-time data pipeline

“Spark Streamliner increases the opportunity for enterprises to work with real-time data, and now they can easily persist multiple data streams for ongoing analytics,” Eric Frenkiel, CEO and co-founder of MemSQL, said in prepared remarks. “Streamliner is the first of many integrated Spark solutions to operationalize Spark, delivering intuitive access to sophisticated capabilities with the relational and in-memory architecture of MemSQL”.

MemSQL says it’s due to make an appearance at next week’s Strata+Hadoop World conference in New York, where Spark Streamliner will be one of its headline acts. For more information, check out MemSQL’s website.
