The evolving world of women in tech | #VMwomen

Women have been involved in tech since the beginning, but it isn’t until recently they have had the support to really come to the forefront and make a mark in the field.

Jeff Frick, cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, recently interviewed Robin Matlock, CMO of VMware, Inc., to talk about diversity, equality and championing everyone.

Supporting diversity in tech

“We want women to feel inclusive,” said Matlock, who stated that there are business benefits, innovation benefits and more to diversity.

“Diversity helps bring different ideas, different perspectives, different ways of looking at things,” she said, which means that innovation can truly happen. And innovation is what all successful businesses are looking for. The best ideas will come with there are more perspectives in the room, she added.

Supporting other women

Matlock’s success spurs her to help other women shine in the tech field. By supporting organizations that support women in tech and encourage young girls to enter the technology field she is helping create the equality and diversity that will provide the strongest ideas, best businesses and most exciting innovations.
