New Relic delivers deeper analytics to keep your apps ticking over

New Relic Inc. is digging deeper into data with the launch of a new analytics component for its application and server monitoring software that promises to deliver new insights for developers.

The New Relic Software Analytics Cloud will be embedded into each of the company’s product lines, giving developers the ability to rapidly query data generated by their apps and help them better understand its performance, speed and usability. What this means is that developers will only ever be just a few clicks away from gaining new intelligence about their deployments.

The idea behind New Relic’s latest offering is simple – it helps developers monitor both the data centers and cloud computing platforms where their applications are hosted. So, for example, if web page load times are slower than normal, or if a database goes down, New Relic will be able to alert to this so the problem can be fixed sooner. It can also help to identify problems before they occur.

Customers including Roku Inc., News Corp., and Slack Technologies Inc. all use the New Relic platform to monitor their apps and ensure all features are running smoothly.

“New Relic is reinventing the application performance monitoring market by embedding analytics throughout every part of our product line, delivering what we see as unprecedented analytical speed, scale, and dimensionality,” says Lew Cirne, CEO and Founder, New Relic. “NRDB, the powerful database behind New Relic Insights, is designed to enable us to collect lossless data from millions of software events every second, and enable companies to run queries against giant data sets to uncover new insights about their applications, their users, and their business.

New Relic’s customers will be able to take advantage of the new service from December 1, when it officially launches. From that day, customers will be able to access eight day’s worth of data and analytics. This includes Error Analytics, which provide insights into the frequency and impact of errors; Geo Analytics, which provide a more in-depth understanding of the location of app users and how that impacts the deliverability of services; and Enhanced Visual Data Explorer, which allows developers to gain deeper insights by querying their data with the New Relic Query Language.
