Withings have announced that they will be extending their Activité line of fitness trackers with the introduction of the Activité Steel (PDF). The Activité Steel blends the best characteristics of the expensive Activité and the cheaper Activité Pop.
The Activité Steel is not Swiss-made like Withings’ trademark watch the Activité, but it also does not come with the hefty $450 price tag. Instead, the Activité Steel is a more-affordable $169.95.
The Activité Steel comes with a stainless steel case, but trades the calf leather strap of the Activité for a silicon version.
Like its predecessors, the Activité Steel features two hand dials on the display, one showing the time, while the sub-dial shows the percentage of your daily activity goal achieved.
“While the tracker market is booming we see growing demand from health conscious people who are not willing to compromise their style,” says Cédric Hutchings, CEO of Withings. “Steel is the perfect Christmas gift for those demanding trendsetters.”
The Activité Steel keeps the same fitness tracker features as the Activité and Activité Pop. Set up your activity goal through the free Withings Health Mate app and easily track your progress throughout the day directly on your wrist.
The Withings Health Mate app will track your activities and motivate you to reach your activity goals. You can also incorporate your weight and food logging into the app. The app also provides smart reminders, data insights, achievement badges and an interactive leader board. The Health Mate app is available for both iOS and Android.
The Activité Steel will automatically detect activities, like swimming or running and when worn at night, it will transition to monitor your sleep. The device is also water-resistant up to 50 meters.
Withings claim the Activité Steel’s battery doesn’t require regular charging and the traditional watch battery can last up to eight months.
