BMC delivers Remedy reborn | #BMCDay

BMC Software, Inc. wanted to show its customers its latest innovations during BMC Day Boston 2015, and it scheduled a full day to do it. The company talked about innovation in the industry and in its own products.

Many BMC Day attendees wanted to learn about the latest version of Remedy, BMC’s service management platform, which has reportedly become more user-friendly. Dave Vellante, cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, sat down with Michelle McFadden, AVP of product management and marketing for BMC, to find out more about Remedy.

User experience makes the difference

“Our customers rely on Remedy to run their IT operations, but there’s no reason why they shouldn’t have a fantastic user experience,” said McFadden. “We put a huge focus on user experience — how the software looks and behaves — so that we provide the best experience for IT service management in the industry.”

BMC redesigned Remedy to take advantage of a new Java codebase. “We’re introducing features like easy upgrades,” said McFadden. “Users can also spin up tenants that have a separate table space, with shared services for the infrastructure so that you don’t have a separate infrastructure for every single customer.” This feature helps efficiency and keeps cost down.

With the digital transformation upon us, McFadden said it’s a good time to take a look at BMC’s portfolio. “We have incredible new capabilities around mobile, social and analytics.”
