The winner of Ubisoft’s ‘Far Cry Primal’ contest gets to sleep in a cave

Game developer Ubisoft Entertainment SA has come up with an unusual reward for the winner of a contest promoting the upcoming Far Cry Primal: an all expense paid trip to sleep in a cave in the middle of winter.

Dubbed “Cavebnb,” the contest site is a spoof of an Airbnb listing, complete with a full descriptions of the cave’s “amazing” accommodations.

An amazing spacious cave with beautiful country views. Feel at home with mother nature in this comforting home. Forest nearby. Open plan space – Lounge, bedroom and kitchen combined in one ingenious space. Minimalist interior design with retro influences.

According to the fine print in the contest rules, the cave itself appears to be in the Pyrenees mountains near the town of Lourdes in southern France, and the contest winner will be spending the night on February 1, 2016.

“Do you really think you’re up to it?”

Ubisoft assures potential cave dwellers that they will not be sent into the wild unprepared, and before actually spending the night in the cave, the contest winner will be “taking part in an intensive survival course” with an expert.

“Once nights falls, you’ll have to deal with an inhospitable environment and survive in the most extreme conditions, spending the night in a cave with very few comforts,” Ubisoft said on the contest site. “Do you really think you’re up to it?”

Far Cry fans and crazy people can enter the contest by sending a tweet to @FarCryGame using the hashtag #cavebnb with an explanation of why they should get to stay in the cave. The contest is open only to legal residents of France, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Belgium and The Netherlands, and contestants must be at least 18 years old to sign up.

Ubisoft said that it will be judging entries based on originality, humor and creativity, and it will contact the winner via a private message on Twitter within two days of making its decision.
