With companies such as FICO, Wal-Mart and eBay using OpenStack, the open-source cloud computing platform is poised for national and international growth.
OpenStack Foundation VP of Marketing and Community Services Lauren Sell told John Furrier, cohost of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, that she’s seeing a lot of public clouds popping up in Asia.
And OpenStack Foundation Executive Director Jonathan Bryce said there is increased interest around containers. “People are really excited to see how frameworks like Docker and Kubernetes enable companies to bring containers in and make use of them with the networking and security frameworks that they already have,” he said.
Bryce also observed the different approaches companies take to storage; how they respond to one another in the market; and how they’ve changed their storage approach so that they can move faster. “We always want to move faster in OpenStack,” he said. “The users drive that.”
