Game of Thrones mania gets cloudy

The folks at CloudEndure, a cloud-based disaster recovery and data migration service provider, tell us they’re big Game of Thrones fans. They’re also pretty good at content marketing.

For the third year, CloudEndure has scrubbed the Amazon Web Services Marketplace to find the most highly rated apps. The company said it pored over 4,107 apps this year (we’ll take their word about that) and filtered out those with at least two reviews of three stars or higher. The result is 76 products from 65 companies chunked into three categories: business software, developer tools and software infrastructure. These are the best of the best, at least as far as user opinion goes.

To make the exercise more interesting, the researchers presented their findings in a Thrones-like map metaphor, and even used appropriate typography. The type is a little small, but you can zoom in easily enough. We can’t say we’ve checked CloudEndure’s work with rigor, but from a quick scan of the Marketplace it looks pretty accurate. And with Season Six of GoT set to launch on April 24, the timing is good.
