What announcements to expect from Lenovo Tech World
Here is a look at what we can expect to be revealed at Tech World based on rumours making the rounds as well as confirmed reports from Lenovo.
Project Tango-powered smartphone
Lenovo has already announced that it will reveal the first Project Tango-enabled smartphone at the event. The new device will revolve around Project Tango’s 3D mapping technology, which includes augmented reality technology to your device and the ability to measure your surrounding environment. Other specs of the smartphone include a size of under 6.5 inches, a sub $500 price tag, a Snapdragon processor, and a summer release date. We will have to wait until Thursday for more details.
Moto Z
One of the rumors making the rounds about the new flagship line of smartphones is a name change from Moto X to Moto Z. We can also expect to see at least two new Moto Z smartphones revealed at Tech World 2016.
The higher-end Moto Z phone is rumored to be just 0.2-inches (5.2mm) thick and have a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display. Under the hood is a rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, up to 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The device is rumored to include a 13-megapixel camera with laser autofocus and optical image stabilization and a relatively small 2,600mAh battery.
The other Moto Z phone will have the same sized display, but will come with a 1080p AMOLED display. Under the hood, there is a rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. One model will come with 16 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM while the other model will have 32 GB of storage and 3GB of RAM. The device is rumored to include a 13-megapixel camera with laser-assisted and phase detection autofocus. It is also rumored to be slightly thicker than the higher-end Moto Z, measuring 0.28-inches (7mm) thick, but it will come with a larger 3,500mAh battery.
Other announcements
While many may be disappointed to learn that the RAZR will not be making a comeback, Lenovo are likely to present some wild cards at Tech World 2016. The company said in its press release last month that it would “share a glimpse of some of the most interesting technology concepts from our labs around the world.”
Make sure to catch the live stream of the keynote starting at 10 am PST on June, 9 while all interviews from theCUBE will start from 1 pm PST.
