Design and display

The Yoga 910 with all-metal unibody casing offers a “near edgeless display” that’s just 5mm of bezel. It keeps the Yoga convertible series’ signature watchband hinge and comes in a range of three colors including gold, silver, and gunmetal.

The Acer Spin 7 offers an all-aluminum unibody chassis and a black and gold color scheme. Check out the Acer Spin 7 in the video below.

Both the Lenovo Yoga 910 and the Acer Spin 7 offers 1,920 by 1,080-pixel resolution, but if you have some spare cash laying around you can opt for the higher resolution Yoga 910 that offers a 4K screen at 3,840 by 2,160-pixel resolution. The higher resolution Yoga 910 option even beats the Surface Book, which comes in at 3,000 by 2,000-pixel resolution.

Under the hood

The Lenovo Yoga 910 packs in the latest 7th generation (Kaby Lake) Core i chips from Intel offering users more power than the Acer Spin 7, which comes with an Intel Core i7-7Y75 processor.

When it comes to memory, the Yoga 910 offers double the amount of RAM, at 16GB, then the Spin 7, and is on par with the Surface Book. However, you can also opt for the cheaper 8GB Yoga 910 model.

The Lenovo Yoga 910 also offers up to 1TB of solid state storage, at an obvious hefty price tag, compared to the 256GB offered by the Acer Spin 7.

Battery life

When it comes to battery life Lenovo claims an impressive 15.5 hours with the Yoga 910 while the Acer Spin 7 claims a much lower 8 hours, with the Surface Book sitting in between the two at 12 hours.

We will have to wait and see whether  you will actually get 15.5 hours out of the Yoga 910, of course, if you opt for the higher resolution 4K screen this figure will likely drop significantly.

Dimensions

Lenovo was prepared to launch the world’s thinnest 2-in-1 laptop, but Acer announced its new Spin 7 earlier and claimed the title. The Acer Spin 7 is both lighter, weighing just 2.65 pounds and thinner, measuring just 0.43 inches, than the Lenovo Yoga 910.

However, with only a slight difference of 0.39 pounds and 0.13 inches between the two 2-in-1’s, both machines are thin and lightweight.

If you want the thinner Spin 7 you will have to make some sacrifices when it comes to ports. The Acer Spin 7 only has USB-type C ports, whereas the Yoga 910 comes with both USB-type C ports and a USB-type A port.

Price and availability

When it comes to price, both the Lenovo Yoga 910 and Acer Spin 7 are cheaper than the Microsoft Surface Book, with the Acer coming in as the most cost-effective option at $1,200. The Yoga 910 starts at $1,300, a $100 price difference to the Spin 7, but if you want a model with higher resolution, more RAM and larger storage then you are going to have to fork out a bit more than the additional $100.

Both the Lenovo Yoga 910 and Acer Spin 7 will be available in the U.S. in October, but no specific dates have been provided at this stage.
