Watch LIVE: Juniper’s SDN and network security expansion | #NXTWORK

Kicking off today is Juniper Networks Inc.’s NXTWORK customer summit at the Santa Clara Marriott in Santa Clara, California. The event, which runs until Oct. 5, will showcase Juniper’s latest technologies, innovations and strategy.

SiliconANGLE will once again be at Juniper’s NXTWORK conference with exclusive interviews from our roving news desk, theCUBE. During its interviews, theCUBE will explore what progress Juniper has made in the past year since NXTWORK 2015, with particular focus on software-defined networking, security and the disaggregation of software and hardware, a strategy which the company announced at last year’s event.

At the start of 2016, Juniper expanded its SDN efforts with the acquisition of Massachusetts-based BTI Systems Inc., a company that specializes in building cloud and metro networking gear. Juniper plans to integrate BTI’s offerings into its NorthStar Controller.

Leading telecom provider, Telefónica S.A. announced last week that it had chosen Juniper’s  SRX Series Service Gateways as the platform to deliver global network security. Juniper expanded it Software-Defined Secure Networks offerings in April with the launch of a compact and containerized virtual firewall called Juniper Networks cSRX and a multi-core version of its virtual firewall, the Juniper Networks vSRX.

Keynote speakers at NXTWORK 2016 include various Juniper executives, such as Rami Rahim (pictured), chief executive officer; and Pradeep Sindhu, founder, vice chairman and chief technology officer. Other speakers from Juniper’s development and innovation division include Jonathan Davidson, executive vice president and general manager; and Dr. Kireeti Kompella, chief technology officer.

Special guest keynote speakers include comedian and actor T.J. Miller; and Jim Foley, chief technology officer at Joe Gibbs Racing.
