MacBook Pro – latest rumors
With Apple’s MacBook-centric launch event taking place shortly, here’s a look at the latest rumors that have been making the rounds this week.
The most significant rumor about the new MacBook Pro, over the last few months, is the addition of a secondary OLED display touch panel above the keyboard.
Last week, a secret trademark filing by Apple was discovered, which points to the OLED display panel for the MacBook Pro being called the “Magic Toolbar.” A dummy corporation called Presto Apps America LLC filed the patent earlier this year and spent over $17,000 in filing fees. The “Magic” moniker suggests this patent is linked to Apple and its upcoming MacBook Pro OLED touch panel.
When macOS Sierra 10.12.1 was released on Monday, it seems Apple accidentally revealed the new MacBook Pro. Hidden Apple Pay images show the new MacBook Pro, together with the OLED display panel, due to be released this morning.
The MacBook Pro images, which were posted by MacRumors, clearly shows the “Magic Toolbar” at the top of the keyboard and a replacement for the standard function keys. The image shows the display panel working with Apple Pay and would, therefore, support Touch ID, which is built into the nearly invisible power button. The OLED display panel will be contextual and will change depending on what the user is doing on screen.
