Deloitte teams up with Amazon Web Services to push SAP Hana

Enterprise consultancy firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd. has said it’s creating a new cloud practice for Amazon Web Services Inc. with around 2,500 expert consultants ready to advise companies on how to build cloud-based applications on AWS.

The AWS practice will also collaborate closely with German enterprise software firm SAP SE, in order to market the company’s Hana analytics solution for the Deloitte’s and AWS’s mutual clients.

Craig Hodgetts, national managing principal, technology at Deloitte Consulting LLP, said the agency wanted to accelerate client’s digital transformations via SAP S/4Hana as a way of modernizing their ERP technology and reducing the risks that come with cloud migration. Deloitte will also help to build more than 20 preconfigured analytics solutions for specific verticals powered by S/4Hana and AWS, Hodgetts said. By doing so, Deloitte reckons, these solutions will help to provide its clients with a strong digital foundation on AWS that can scale up as needed.

SAP benefits from the deal as it will enable the company to deliver its vision of a streamlined business to more customers. The partnership between Deloitte and AWS will “help accelerate delivery and operations” of products based on S/4Hana to the company’s clients, said Greg McStravick, president of SAP’s data management business.

Deloitte and AWS are familiar bedfellows, having partnered before in areas like industry-specific analytics, blockchain and cybersecurity. This latest alliance augments this work to include the full spectrum of enterprise cloud needs, while providing clients with access to a much wider array of AWS services, Deloitte said.
