Samsung Launches GalaxyTab. First Major Comptitor to the iPad?

Big news comes from Samsung today at the IFA Electronics Consumer Show at Berlin. It is the launch of Samsung's first tablet; the Galaxy Tab. Its portability is the main value proposition here.  With a battery life of 8 hours and handy, small sized 7-inch touchscreen, Galaxy Tab, is promoted as the tablet to use on the go. Justin.tv Expands to Android Phones in Live Video Broadcast

Broadcasting live video from your Android phone is now available with Justin.tv.  The live, video-streaming service has launched an Android app, bringing the service to Google's mobile platform.  Broadcasting live videos has never been so easy with this innovation for mobile phones.  Though Justin.tv might not be the first to market (Qik, etc.), it has some advantages in the form of hardware video encoding which enables it to drain less battery power and bitrate adjustment of videos uploaded to strengthen wireless connections. You can start broadcasting by downloading it on your Android and registering for a Justin.tv account. You will never have to go to a website. The Galaxy Tab  is very real. I’ve personally played with this amazing device and it blew me away. Yes, I work for Samsung so I’m a bit biased, but as a geek and Android fan I can tell you that I’m extremely excited. It’s official: Google is acquiring social collaboration platform Jambool. The company behind Social Gold, a virtual currency platform, was rumored to have been snapped up by the search engine giant earlier this week. A post today on Jambool’s company blog confirms the deal, though none of the financial details were given.
