CEO Tom Georgens On Billy Bean of MoneyBall & Meaning Of Big Data – There Is A Billy Beane In Every Company

Below is a storyboard of highlight videos that I did with Netapp CEO Tom Georgens and capturing their Oracle Openworld marketing with Billy Beane highlighting big data.

I think that Netapp, a Silicon Valley leading storage company, had the best marketing angle at Oracle Openworld this year when they brought in Billy Beane to sign Moneyball books for fans.

Moneyball is the story of Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane’s successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players. Moneyball is a great book turned into a movie recently starring Brad Pitt. In the tech business moneyball highlights the core value proposition of Big Data.

Using big data -check out coverage on or for all the leading coverage on big data.

There is a Billy Beane in every company. A person who can literally use big data techniques to change the face of the industry and give their company a competitive advantage.

Here is a storyboard of socialcam’s that I did at Oracle Openworld at the Netapp booth.
