Understanding the Business of PaaS – Platform as a Service

When understanding PaaS – Platform as a Service you only have to look at two factors…Because there are two types of companies: 1) commodity – which is a race to zero – cost is the only concern; and 2) value add – software based or differentiated with some sort of other intellectual property.

At the end of the day Developer can about only one thing — Developers care about the ability to build fast and high quality products then have a way to get distribution for their product that can be monetized.

Also not to be confused with IaaS – Infrastructure as a Service and SaaS – Software as a Service.
