Dell SecureWorks has announced a new Vulnerability Management Service (VMS) and a new Web Application Scanning (WAS) Service for the Cloud. These Cloud security systems are add-ons to Dell vCloud, Dell Cloud Dedicated Service, and VMware vCenter 5.0. Dell SecureWorks also offers its Global Threat Intelligence Service, providing expert analysis of millions of security data points related to new vulnerabilities, emerging threats, and new adversary activity. ViaWest Strengthens Compliance Portfolio

Data center, Cloud computing, and managed service provider ViaWest has announced enhancement of its library of compliance and attestation reports. The additions to the reporting portfolio include a Service Organization Controls SOC 2, Type II report on the Security and Availability Trust Services Principles in addition to its SOC 1, Type II report in accordance with SSAE 16 and ISAE 3402, and its SOC 3 report on the Security and Availability Trust Services Principles. Also, in response to customer requirements, it has doubled the number of facilities covered by the Payment Card Industry Report on Compliance for Sections 9 and 12 (PCI) ROC. It also added a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) report for physical controls covering four of its datacenters. More

Infosys Foundation Honors Outstanding Minds in Science in Humanities

The Infosys Science Foundation has awarded the Infosys Prize 2012 for outstanding achievements and contributions to the science and humanities to seven laureates across six categories. The inaugural Humanities prize was split between two recipients. More
