Here’s a First – Buy 100 Google Apps Accounts and Get a Free Tablet

One of the world’s top Google Apps resellers is trying a new way to sell business accounts.

Purchase 100 Google Apps business accounts and Excel Micro will throw in a Motorola Xoom, Android-based tablet.

A good deal? For Excel Micro it’s a great deal. And a smart one, too. It banks on the appeal of the tablet and the margins are exceptional, considering the high-end solutions deals the Pennsylvania company provides. Plus, it provides an incentive in market that is sure to become more competitive as more SaaS offerings enter the market.

Excel Micro is the world’s largest authorized reseller of Google message security and compliance solutions. It bundles email archiving, email encryption, and additional email security. It’s the kind of company that can manage to give away a tablet valued at $499.

In addition to the Xoom tablet, Excel Micro is also giving out gift cards for businesses that buy fewer accounts. For 75 Google Apps Business licenses, Excel Micro will give a $400 gift card. A 50 license deal and you get a $250 gift card. A $100 gift card goes to the customer that buys 25 licenses.

Services Angle

But why is it so smart? This market is going to get tighter now that Microsoft has a credible service to sell with Office 365. Considering this, it makes sense for Excel Micro to make this kind of deal.
