Python and Django Support Comes to Heroku

Heroku just added support for yet another language: Python. Heroku added partial support for Python via Facebook for Heroku earlier this month, but this marks the first time the platform-as-a-service has supported the language for all developers. Heroku is also supporting Django, a Web application framework that is to Python as Ruby on Rails is to Ruby.

You can find a quick start guide for Python on the Heroku blog.

PHP was the other language partially supported by Facebook for Heroku, so look for that next.

Services Angle

New language support announcements are coming from PaaS providers faster than ever. Just this morning Engine Yard announced support for JRuby.
